Homework Assignments
All homework assignments are listed on the syllabus for the entire year.
Homework assignments are usually comprised of a mix of the following:
Homework is occasionally collected or graded, but most often will be corrected in class.
It is inadvisable to do all homework the night before it is due. By spreading the workload over the whole week, students retain information much better and are more successful. Students who try to do a week’s worth of science homework after a full day of Thursday CCS classes are setting themselves up for failure. PARENTS - Please encourage your students to avoid this bad habit!
Homework assignments are usually comprised of a mix of the following:
- Reading from the text book (specific chapters and sections)
- Occasionally, written work from the Section Assessments and Chapter Assessments in the textbook
- Learning definitions of Key Terms
- Completing Lab Worksheets
- Additional Assignments: Examples are extra worksheets handed out in class, memorizing certain things, etc.
- Quizzes - There will be an online quiz for each chapter and two Unit tests. Unit I (first semester) will cover all chemistry concepts and Unit II (second semester) will cover physics concepts
